About Your Hostess:

One time I was on a ferris wheel. I am terrified of ferris wheels. Also, I was the only jackass on the ferris wheel cause it was 20 degrees out.
I’ve had this site for a ridiculous amount of time, lacking an “About” section cause I was too lazy to deal with it. How’s that for an intro?
I was born a cold February morning in 1978. Being the only girl in the family, I was already winning in life. To my brothers- ha!!!
I go by many names. Justine. Monkey. Danger. Goob. Jackass. A combination of two or more of those. It’s not so much a need for anonymity as it is lack of maturity. Let’s be honest with ourselves people; I’m 30+ years old and still claiming that “Danger” is my middle name. As for the monkey thing… I’m told that there is some built-in connection between geeks and monkeys. I became obsessed with primates in high school actually. My drama coach was convinced I had some sort of phallic obsession. Maybe so….maybe so. Anyway, the liking stuck since then and made it really easy for people to shop for me.
I probably watch too many movies, although I feel like I don’t watch enough. Horror movies are definitely my fav of the genres. Not so much into tv. Frankly, I feel like there is far too much crap on. There’s a few shows that I enjoy watching, but due to my tendency to get distracted easily, I have to rely on DVR to catch anything. Not to be all moral superior, I will point out that I do enjoy some crap tv, like Dance Moms. But you not see me watching Dancing with the Stars. I have standards, you know.
Like pretty much everyone else on the internet, I fancy myself a amateur photographer. I’ve embraced the fact that I’m not very good with a digital medium, so film is where it’s at for me. I also tend to dabble in various artistic endeavors- basically, whatever can hold my interest. At the moment, that is wire sculpture. And stick figures.
I started this site many years ago cause I figured I had something to say. Turns out, not so much, but I enjoy having an outlet all the same to entertain the whole three people that come here, which is two more than my brothers’ site, so once again, I WIN.
The first version of this site involved me updating the html file every time I wanted to add something. That lasted a whole week or two. I then used a lovely blog template that was mostly functional, but all the code was in italian. So two-thirds of those old posts were about how I couldn’t troubleshoot my site because I don’t speak italian.
…
(The other third were strongly worded rants to various people.)
At some point in my life, I switched my host to Livingdot, which opened a whole new world of templates in english. Amazing, truly. More recently, I switched to Network Solutions. It was a tech-driven decision. Turns out after buying a house, affordable hosting was a must. Now this site is hosted on A Small Orange. No, not literally. That’s the name of the company.
As for the other stuff, I’m married (aka “Captain”, “the Mister” or “Beardy”) with some kids (aka “Phoenix” and “Peanut”), a cat (Pez) two cats (Zoey and Colt), and two three dogs (Bella, Juliet and Sable). I make it a point to not mention my kids too much because my brother once called me a mommy blogger with my whole two kid-related posts. So…there! I’ve been a little more lenient on this rule lately.
I’m somewhat crazy, but in a happy, non-assholeface sort of way. I like to make jokes about it, cause really, if you can’t reflect and say “Dear jeebus, I’m outta my freakin’ mind” with a laugh, you are doing it wrong.
